Pullback and Fibonacci retracement
What it is
In a trend, price rarely moves in a straight line. This strategy buys the dip (or sells the rally) when the pullback reaches a common retracement zone.
The rules
SetupA clear impulse move in the trend direction. Draw Fibonacci from its start to its end.EntryIn the 50%–61.8% retracement zone, ideally where it lines up with a previous level, after a confirming candle.StopBeyond the 78.6% level or the impulse's start.TargetThe impulse's high or low first (partial close), then an extension.
When it fails
When the "pullback" is really the start of a reversal. Fibonacci levels are a guide, not a law of nature.
Risk profile
Good risk–reward when it works; confirmation reduces losing trades but also misses some moves.
Who it suits
Traders comfortable judging trend strength.
Education, not advice. Goldman Academy teaches how markets and tools work. Nothing here is a recommendation to buy or sell, and no lesson promises profits. Trading leveraged products carries a high risk of losing money; only trade money you can afford to lose.
